B-ball, fire and other stuff

Damn. I just discovered that the mwb venue, Rust caught on fire last night. They are forced to close down Rust tonight, but I hope they manage to find another venue to hold this nights party... (update: they did, it's going down @ Culture Box tonight) It's unfortunate since almost every wednesday down there is a smash. Just last week I played a slamming set with my dj-partner in crime; Miksmads. We started out after Oxy Cottontails liveshow, and kept the club open for almost an hour later than the usual closing time, due to the still large crowd at 5 o'clock.

Last week I went on tour in Denmark with the GAM3 Crew, read the blog at streetgam3.dk. It was a week full of street related events; especially b-ball, b-boy'ing & dj'ing. GAM3 had gathered an incredible team for this task. In collaboration with the streetdancers from Flow Dance Academy & the b-boys from 2TheBeat, me and Agent Collect became a tag-team of great dimensions, just check here:

:-)

On the advertise tip; remember the Gongong movement and join the party, this friday the 22nd @ Zum Biergarten, just next to Palads cinema in Copenhagen.

Lookin' good

edit: Another 'Damn!': It is unfortunately confirmed, that danish female reggae-talent, Natasja, was involved in a tragic car accident, which took the life from her. She was a great inspiration for a lot of people. My condolences to her family and friends.

Things are rolling... Fast, I'm telling ya!

As I mentioned in a comment to my last blog, I am now also a resident dj at MidWeekBrakes @ Rust on a monthly basis. I played there yesterday, and people were really getting down to a lot of the scandinavian hiphop I'd brought.

Last weekend I went to Göteborg to play a couple of gigs and to buy
this mixer. I arrived friday by train and got picked up by my man Martin (Big ups for a lovely weekend!), who drove me to his place. We played the first set at the Club Lounge(s) that night, which really just was a system check and warm-up for the next :)
Because after a great saturday of sunshine, icecream & frisbee'ing, we went downtown to prepare our performance. Seldom seen; the club was already packed by 500+ people at midnight! Together we played a blockrocking blend of partyhiphop, reggae, mash-ups & balkan beat, and I must say everything worked out really well that night. Beautiful, friendly people in a classy club, who loves the music you spin for them. Does it get any better?

Well apparently it does, I just got a call this morning offering me a clothing deal, here in the immediate future. I've turned the deal on, and will make it official as soon as everything is sorted out.

What I'm going for this spring

If you have been watching my bulletins, you might have noticed that I am spending even more time rocking dancefloors around Copenhagen. I'm currently holding residencies at Café Bopa and Bullit Club. Besides that I'm getting regular gigs at Rust and Saxons, as well as occasional jobs at various study- and dormparties. This weekend I had my wedding-dj debut, where I played a pile of jazzy tunes flavoured with a lot of classics, for a young and openminded crowd. It was actually quite fun, I hope to get an oppurtunity like that again... Next month I'm going out of town to Göteborg and Roskilde (check the calendar on my profile), for two exciting events, which themes will be revealed when time comes.

As far as keeping up the spirit for spinning records, one need to discover new (as in old) incredible music and unearth more fresh records, to spin for the crowd. The last couple of months I have been overwhealmed by genres as balkan beat & afro-funk, which of course have influenced my liveshows, and will continue to set its mark on my future projects. And I experience that my enthusiasm for this type of music, affects and inspire the people present when I perform live.

Since x-mas I have brought you a couple of mixtapes, you can find the last one here. I have assigned the next weeks to finish up my current project; the "7 Sessions Mixtape", which of course will follow up on the "6 Sessions Mixtape" that was released fall 2006. Hope to see your support when it drops :)

If you have been in Copenhagen, you might have realized that summer is about to come. Together with some interesting people, I am planning on throwing a couple of parties when the holiday kicks in. So if you're interested in getting me to play abroad, please approach well enough time before.

Best regards, enjoy life

Since the releaseparty

Hey there

It has been some busy weekends lately. The releaseparty at Rust was a great succes, thanks a lot to everybody for showing up. And large ups to Boom Clap Bachelors for playing a tight set that night, look out for their album coming out soon, it's HOT!
Since then I have been playing a lot of gigs, and have now realized that playing 4 nights in a row is great fun, but also very exhausting... :) After the releaseparty I was primarily spinning my records in the vicinity of Copenhagen, but also went to Jylland last week to play; cool to experience that people in Horsens is rockin' to the beats I bring.

I have been receiving much attention for my last effort, the "6 Sessions Mixtape". Thanks a lot for the appreciation, it's great to have the opportunity to give people something to enjoy, especially when the record industry acts like it does. Right about now I'm halfway into "The Tracks I Grew Up On" - disc 3 & 4, which I plan to release around christmas. I also got some other projects up my sleeve, which I will be reveal'ing when the time is right.

Next month is probably looking forward to a lot of x-mas parties, maybe next time at YOUR spot? Well, take care and let's see what comes along.

Best regards,

More beats & mixes online

Wow, it has been rough week in my neighborhood!
Thursday, a man got shot in the street, something that very rarely happens in Denmark. I accidently walked by 30 seconds later, and saw him lying in a pool of blood. Fortunately the medics arrived quickly, and he survived. And this saturday night my street got closed down once again, this time due to a young group causing riots, throwing cobblestones and lighting fires.Well, I wasn't directly involved in any of these incidents, but I was a pretty close observer. It seems to me that Copenhagen is turning quicker to violence these last months. What do you think?

Allright, but what I really wanted to tell you, is that I have thrown a couple of new mixes, a couple of old tracks and a remix online. Check 'em out at my profile. And if you can keep a secret, I can inform you that my next mixtape is done, now I just have to do some post-production and get it pressed up. Look for it, it's going to bump the party!

Woow... 4 jobs in a weekend is hard work!

That was one hard-working weekend for me. But I love it.

I did get the oppurtunity to spin my records for a lot of lovely people all over Copenhagen. I did get a lot of love from the guests who showed up at the venues. Most memorable must be two foreign students at this school-job, who manage to create two posters, size A4, saying "we love the dj's", and went on sporting them on their shirts the rest of the night. A lot of love back to you from here.

I love playing my records for a crowd there's up to some fun.
